Mvubu: The Black Door

Mvubu is a character from The Black Door, a South African television drama series created by Mandla N and Mpumelelo Nhlapho. The character is portrayed by Sandile Dlamini.

Background

Mvubu is the factory manager. Strict, annoying, funny but doesn't think or know he is. A joyless man who doesn't laugh much. He wants to live in a perfect controlled environment as the class captain. He is a closeted gay man who is subliminally self-loathing and will deny any such inclinations with all that he has.

Plot

The show follows Khaya Sokhulu (played by local heartthrob, Zamani Mbatha) whose dreams of owning a transport company are turned upside down when his brother is mysteriously murdered. Uncovering his late brother's twisted secrets, Khaya must take on a world of sex, drugs and tender fraud if he's ever to repay his brother's debt to The Black Door brothel owner, Mam'Rebs.
