Masechaba Ndlovu is a South African actress, presenter and television producer. Masechaba is currently the spokesperson for Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa a position she was appointed in March 2020. She has previously worked as a presenter for Metro FM and BET on the show The Big Secret.
Masechaba Ndlovu nee Lekalake was born on 10 September 1983 in Lusaka, Zambia. She is 37 years as of 2020. She lived in Zambia until she was 5 years old before briefly moving to Zimbabwe for a few months while her parents were receiving military training in the Soviet Union. Masechaba Ndlovu moved to United States of America when she was 6 years old to stay with her parents who had just moved there. She attended school in California, Oakland for 7 years before returning to South Africa in 1995 where she finished her high school. She studied journalism, video broadcasting, and public relations before embarking on a successful media career.
Masechaba's parents were exiled revolutionaries who lived in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Soviet Union before returning to South Africa after independence from white minority rule that presided over apartheid. Not much is known about Masechaba's biological father. Masechaba accuses her stepfather of sexual abusing while she was 9 years old. Masechaba said while living in the United States her mother once left her with her stepfather for three days. The stepfather allegedly abused her during the time.
Husband and children
Masechaba's first husband was Mfundo Ntsibande with whom she has one son Lungelo. After divorcing Ntsibande, Mashechaba later married Vusi Ndlovu, this where she gets the name Ndlovu. They share a son King Itumeleng. In July 2018 Masechaba announced that she was separating Vusi Ndlovu.
Masechaba was widely criticised for confronting Babes Wodumo in a radio interview about allegedly being abused by her boyfriend and manager, Mampintsha.
"I said I wasn't going to do this, but Babes, you know, I think it needs to be said because I hate to see a young women as talented, as smart as you, living in so much fear. Babes Wodumo. Right. You don't have to answer this question, but we all know, we've heard from multiple sources, we've witnessed the fact that you have been physically abused by Mampintsha. Masechaba Ndlovu is believed to have a net worth 16 million rands. She reportedly makes between R150 000 - R200 000 a month.
