Her father, Phil Collins, is an English musician and her mother, Jill Tavelman, is the ex-president of ‘Beverly Hills Women's Club.’ She has three step-brothers. While Simon Collins and Nicholas were born from her father’s first marriage, Matthew Collins was born from his third marriage. Lily Collins is of Russian Jewish, English, and German descent.

Early life

She was first seen in the ‘BBC series’ ‘Growing Pains’ when she was two years old. In 1996, at the age of seven, she moved to Los Angeles when her parents went their separate ways. As a teenager, Collins suffered from an eating disorder which she later revealed in her book ‘Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me.’


Collins studied at the ‘Harvard-Westlake School.’ After graduating, she attended the ‘University of Southern California’ and did her major in broadcast journalism. However, it was said that the ‘Mirror Mirror’ star was in a relationship with Jamie Campbell Bower in 2012. The couple broke up in 2013.
