Jason Gotay is an American film and theater actor best known for his appearances on Peter Pan Live! (2014), Love Life (2020) and Gossip Girl (2020)

Jason was raised by a single mother, Marla Gotay. His parents got divorced while he was still young and his mother had to raise them single-handedly. He has a brother, Dan Gotay, and a sister, Jill Gotay. 


Jason graduated from a Professional Performing Arts High School. After his high school studies, he joined Emerson College in Boston as a freshman. Seeking to further his studies, he enrolled at Marymount Manhattan College while working part-time in the theatre district.

Jason Gotay’s career in the theater started early on when he was in grade school though he never thought of it as a career. He did one stage play every year in school. However, at high school, Jason seriously considered following theater as his career and started working towards that. He looked up to his drama teacher Peter DeCaro as his role model as he was mentoring in Mark Twain School in Coney Island.

In 2010, Jason portrayed the character of Angel Dumott Schunard and Gordon in the play Rent. The play was showcased on Westchester Broadway Theatre in New York. He again played the character of Angel at Pioneer Memorial Theatre in Salt Lake City.

His breakthrough theatrical performance came in (2011-2012) when he played Randall in Bring it On The Musical Tour. The show was performed in different 12 different venues across California.

Jason went on to appear on plays like F#%king Up Everything (2013), Julian Po (2013), 210 Amulet Avenue (2014), Into The Woods (2015), A Bronx Tale: The Musical (2016), Mamma Mia (2016), Freaky Friday (2016), The Little Mermaid (2017), The Prince of Egypt (2017).

Besides that, Disney’s Newsies (2018), Call Me Madam(2019), The Importance of Being Earnest (2019), Cindrella (2019), Teeth (2019), Evita (2019), I’ll Leave It to You (2019), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2020) and Between the Lines (2020) are some of his notable theatrical shows.

Broadway actor Jason Gotay, who played Che in the recent City Center production of Evita, landed a role in the reboot of the TV series Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl is an American teen drama television series based on the novel series of the same name written by Cecily von Ziegesar. The series, created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, ran on The CW network for six seasons from September 19, 2007, to December 17, 2012.
