Gary Hensman is a Zimbabwe white commercial farmer who owned Gyppsland Dairy Farm located in Chinhoyi which about 170km from capital city Harare. Gary Hensman's farm was earmarked for land redistribution in 2017. During the same year Zanu PF youths invaded his farm after late former president Robert Mugabe directed youths to occupy the few remaining white owned commercial farms.
Gyppsland Dairy Farm escaped redistribution in the early 2000s when Zimbabwe embarked on the fast track land reformed that is blamed for collapsing the economy. During the time the farm was deemed too strategic and productive. However in 2017 his luck ran out after it was put on the list for redistribution. Gary Hensman fought the decision resulting in Mary Mliswa, Mashonaland West Provincial minister reversing the decision. However he lost his battle after Lands and Agriculture minister Perence Shiri didn't approve the reversal.
On 06 November 2019, Gary Hensman was evicted from his farm a decision enforced by Zimbabwe Republic Police.
Yesterday commercial farmer Gary Hensman was illegally and summarily evicted from his productive farm. This video was taken in the midst of the eviction which was done with support from the ZRP. It illustrates the reality of the Mnangagwa regime which is simply a grand deception. pic.twitter.com/EdZ7qFL1hr— David Coltart (@DavidColtart) November 7, 2019
