Early career

Dea Panendra began her career in the world of homeland entertainment, as one of the contestants of the Indonesian Idol talent search event in 2010. Her journey in the contest, only reached the spectacular round of 11. Dea was eliminated on May 28, 2010. At that time, Dea performed a song titled "New I Know What Love Is" by singer, Dewi Pertiwi. 

Theatre and Film

After the Indonesian Idol contest in 2010, Dea Panendra tried as a cast member in a musical theater titled'Musikal Laskar Pelangi'' which was directed by Mira Lesmana in December, 2010. In 2013, Dea returned to play the Bird of Paradise in the theater titled'Timun Mas Musical''.

In 2016, Dea finally landed a role in her first feature film. Dea played Novi in the film marlina: The Murderer in Four Acts by talented director Mouly Surya. The film is set in Sumba.

In 2021, she was cast in Photocopier, an Indonesian crime mystery drama film, co-written and directed by Wregas Bhanuteja in his feature-length directorial debut.
