Chitsaka Chipaziwa


Born in 1953, Chitsaka Chipaziwa is the Former Zimbabwe’s ambassador to Geneva, Switzerland. He is married and has three children Mr. Chipaziwa holds an undergraduate degree from George Washington University, United States.  He pursued graduate work in international relations, development studies and business at McGill University and Carleton University, in Canada, as well as at the University of South Australia.

    He became his country’s Permanent Representative in New York on 13 August 2010.  Prior to that, since 2003, Mr. Chipaziwa served as Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other international organizations, in Geneva, Switzerland.  From 1996 to 2003, he served as Ambassador to Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia and Viet Nam.  For two years prior to that appointment, he was the Deputy Head of Mission in Pretoria, South Africa.

      Since 2003, Mr. Chipaziwa has served as Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other international organizations, in Geneva, Switzerland.  From 1996 to 2003, he served as Ambassador to Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia and Viet Nam.  For two years prior to that appointment, he was the Deputy Head of Mission in Pretoria, South Africa.

      Chipaziwa has served as a diplomat in Sweden, Australia, South Africa, Malaysia and Brunei and was currently working an official in the ministry of Foreign Affairs.
