Charlie Heaton began his career as a musician after relocating to London at the age of 16.
He became the drummer of the noise-rock band Comanechi and worked on their second album. He also went on a world tour with the band for almost 18 months. During this time, he had to struggle to pay his bills, and his sister suggested that he signs up with a commercial talent agency for some extra gigs.
His first job from the agency was an eight-minute story-driven commercial for a Swiss insurance company.
His debut as an actor was in the role of Gary McCready in the ITV crime drama series 'DCI Banks' in 2015.
The same year, he appeared in the British crime drama series 'Vera' and the medical drama series 'Casualty'. He decided to move to Los Angeles for the pilot season and funded his journey by working in a bar. Within three months, he got signed with Alex Yarosh at The Gersh Agency and bagged a role in the 2016 psychological thriller 'Shut In', in which he co-starred alongside Naomi Watts and Oliver Platt.
