Chelsea and Manchester City are set clash at Etihad on 23 November with Manchester City coming off from the defeat by Liverpool who are now 9 points ahead of their title rivals. Chelsea are on 26 points just a point ahead of Manchester City. There seems to be mutual respect between Frank Lampard and Pep Guardiola ahead of the game.
Pep Guardiola's comments
“I think Chelsea, over many years, have been an incredible top team, but from the beginning (of this season) his team have played really good.
He (Frank Lampard) is consistent with his ideas and the results are there. I'm happy for him.”
Frank Lampard's comments
"I think it's quite casual to sit there and say 'they've lost three games and that means they're not as strong as last year. I still see them as the same strength and understand what they have and what they can do to teams.
They've had their injury problems in defensive areas, but they're a great team, so they're as big a threat as they've always been."
Christian Pulisic is expected to start, despite the in-form winger missing both of the
United States' fixtures during the international break with a injury.
Callum Hudson-Odoi, is expected to miss out due to an hamstring strain he picked up on England duty.
Manchester City Injuries
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed that goalkeeper Ederson is fit for the game after having been injured in Champions League match against Atlanta. He missed the game against Liverpool.
Laporte and Sane are still about three months away from returning to fitness according Guardiola. Benjamin Mendy is fit for the game.
