ZRP identifies 6 victims of 8 ZUPCO bus and tanker collision

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has disclosed the names of the victims who died in a road traffic accident that occurred on 17 November 2021 at the 169 km peg along Harare–Bulawayo Road.

The accident happened when a ZUPCO bus heading towards Harare, had a head-on collision with a fuel tanker that was travelling in the opposite direction.

According to Senior Staff Officer (Press, Public and International Relations) to the Commissioner-General of Police, Police General Headquarters, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, six of the eight victims were positively identified by their next of kin as listed:-

Clifford Mazhakata, a male adult aged 39 of number 257 Budiriro 1, Harare.

Rangarirai Chivore, a male adult aged 45 of ZRP Fairbridge, Bulawayo.

Benson Nyamutsamba, a male adult aged 49 of T square Mzilikazi, Bulawayo.

Takudzwa Mafunga, a male adult aged 22 of ZUPCO Kwekwe Depot, Kwekwe.

Simanga Chuma, a male adult aged 35 of block 18 586 Mpopoma, Bulawayo.

Nkazimulo Gumpo, a male adult aged 22 of number 13 Kilimani Hillcrest, Bulawayo.

Meanwhile, the names of the remaining two victims will be announced in due course.
